Types of Scratches

Base Coat Scratches (Partially Removable)

These scratches have penetrated the clear coat into the color layer. They may be reduced but not completely eliminated through correction. Touch-up paint may be needed for full repair.

Deep Scratches (Not Removable)

Scratches that reach the primer or metal cannot be removed through detailing. These require professional paint repair or touch-up.

The Paint Correction Process

Assessment

Compounding

Using a machine polisher and cutting compound, we remove a thin layer of clear coat to eliminate scratches. This is done carefully to avoid removing too much clear coat.

Polishing

What to Expect

These can typically be completely removed, leaving paint looking like new.
